But codependency can make you feel exhausted, burnt out, and resentful toward those youve been helping, especially when they feel entitled to your over-giving. Tragically. Really?. Im Martha Beck, here with Rowan Mangan. And yet, our culture calls it "virtuous." This double date is a first for us because We Can Do Hard Things listeners, Martha and Rowan are missing one person, who is Karen, because Martha and Rowan and Karen are in a polyamorous relationship. But you didnt want to make that honesty hurt my feelings or something. And Karen has compared to us much lower impulse control about telling the truth. Its just tells us more about our relationship than anything else, I feel like our conflicts. But I do love that queerness has sort of broken the cages. Then her mother says, Oh your father and I never felt the need for that.. So Karen goes down to Florida to visit her mother, whos 80 what? Its crazy. It is a much more subtle thing. Rowan Mangan: Were like, were going to say we have developed a very strong family feeling. Can I talk about one more piece of research? Rowan Mangan: Martha Beck: Thats what I live for. Out of that, got together with Karen, my first ever female/female relationship, and everything was good to go until we died, until something happened.
